A delivery service and large kitchen allows Bao Noodles to feed and delight folks well beyond its comfortable dining space. Open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, the menu shines with traditional noodle soups, a wide variety of appetizers and family-style meals. Standout dishes include the savory Thit kho (braised pork belly), the Ca’ chien sot’ me (crispy whole snapper with tamarind) and the Mien’ga (a soothing chicken and shitake noodle soup). Nghia Nguyen a chef and former restaurant owner in Vietnam, served as a consultant, assuring the authenticity of Bao Noodles’ many traditional dishes.
Bao Noodles aesthetically reflects the influence of France on Vietnam. The large smoked mirror, elongated bar and rustic tile floor bespeak old world elegance while the red entryway, cheery golden walls and distressed green banquettes suggest the Vietnamese influences and the cuisine that is the true highlight at the fifty-seat restaurant.
Spurred by the enthusiastic feedback from Bao 111, Andrews and Johnson recognized the demand for Asian home cooking outside of Chinatown and have risen to the occasion. For a taste of authentic Vietnamese traditional cuisine be sure to visit Bao Noodles.

Ordered the worst Banh Mis ever. Who soaks the bread in soy sauce? Disgusting.

Mediocre cold food arrived an hour and a half later with a short apology.

Really disappointed in the quality of the food we received. I had the Vermicelli noodles (Bun) with chicken while the supporting ingredients like the noodles and vegetables were perfect, the chicken was gross. Totally fatty and pretty much inedible. The flavor was right, but I couldn't move past the seriously low quality of the meat. I'd expect better chicken from a street meat stand, but Bao Noodles couldn't deliver.

Another great Murray Hill find. Delicious sandwiches at great prices!

the summer rolls were lacking of flavor and a bit dry, didn't taste fresh either. tried one, had to throw the other one away. love the soup of the spicy beef stew, daikon and carrots were fine & tasted like home cooking. BUT the beef was impossible to chew, not tender at all..

This place is the worst. I cant believe how poorly they handle their business! It is unfortunate because the food is really good...that is if they ever get your order right or if they ever get it to you before it's totally cold and soggy. I've been let down time and time again but being the good sport I usually am, I kept give them another chance. This was the last chance I will never order from them again. And on a side note I've never left a review on any food related website before this one....thats how much i now hate this place.

pho broth has too much star anise or cloves. and the soup is very greasy. not what i am looking for in a pho broth. also, the bean sprouts and lime were obviously old and not at all fresh. didn't even add them to the soup.

The Vietnamese sandwich wasn't quite what I've been used to. The pork was hard to chew, and the sandwich wasn't anything special in other ways either. Rolls were good.

My colleagues and I ordered from here for lunch today. Delivery time was as stated. No complaints there. I got the Pate & Coldcut sandwhich which i generally like from other places. This one...not so much. I tried my co-workers food, howvere, and I liked it. They got the Grilled Pork Sandwhich (i really liked it) and the Salt & pepper Squid (also very good). Overall, i'd order again but I wont be getting the Pate sandwich. too bad..i had high expectations for that one.

I highly recommend Bao Noodles. The Chicken Pho dish is my favorite, but I also recommend the Vegetable Spring Roll Vermicelli. All of the noodles dishes come with the different components separated, which I think makes your meal seem fresher. Plus you can add what you want.

Food has gone so down hill. Nothing fresh. Just slapped together, loveless vietnamese food.

I only do pick up so I can't say much about their delivery. I usually order their banh mi, which are very affordable and decent for Vietnamese banh mi. The sandwiches are a bit salty though.

GREAT place. Excellent spring rolls, Bahn Mi and everything came quickly and well packaged!

food is always solid, though a bit overpriced. they are definitely fast and the delivery always beat the time estimate. have ordered a few times.

What a gem in my neighborhood! We ordered Grilled Pork Chop and Lollipop Chicken (my favorite). Both were delicious and I will definitely go back again and again for Viet cuisine there.

I have only ever ordered one dish from here (Curry Tofu), but I order it over and over and over again. It's very good and it's quite a lot of food (so I can usually save some for later or split it with someone). Lately it's been a little less savory and flavorful than it used to be (I'm not sure if there's a new chef or a new recipe), but it's still pretty good.

I want to like this place so much! They only have ONE vegetarian noodle dish on the whole menu.... granted its a mouth-watering dish and I order it like crazy (veggie spring roll on vermicelli).... and the atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. but the delivery is always shockingly slow, especially since i live half a block away. (did i mention how good the spring roll vermicelli dish is?!?!)

The lollipop chicken is a must order! The pho is lacklustre however. The shortribs and pork chop are awesome though!

The grilled pork sandwich was great: a perfect combination of veggies, tasty meat, and spicy mayo, on good bread. And $4.95 is a nice price for a hearty sandwich. I ordered the sticky rice with chicken just out of curiosity. It was, indeed, very sticky, and I liked that, but the flavor was bland. It was better with a touch of the pepper sauce on it. The grilled chicken vermicelli was not so good. The chicken quality was pretty poor and none of the other elements were terribly compelling. We're not sure how hot it was supposed to be, but it didn't arrive hot. The shrimp summer rolls were heavy on the lettuce, but otherwise good. The delivery came 35 minutes after we placed our order, which was great. We live 2 long blocks plus 12 short blocks away.

Very disappointing. Pho lacked flavor. Soup wasn't hot upon delivery. Squid was soggy.

Quick delivery. Good pho. Not the best I've ever had but didn't disappoint. Easiest if you have a bowl to mix all the parts of the pho together.

The food isn't bad, and I don't review too often. I've had this place take twice as long as the estimated time one too many times (I'm still waiting after an hour and 20 minutes—why do I keep forgetting about the poor service?? Yes, I've eaten in and waited just as long as well). Sorry, Bao, I keep giving you "one more chance," but you keep messing it up!

I used to like this place but their delivery is really slipping. I waited 1.5 hours at least for my food (and I don't live far away). When it finally arrived, they forgot half the order. I'm done with this place.

I LOVE the beef stew pho and summer rolls. The beef is soo tender. Very generous portion and incredibly satisfying. Comes with a variety of sauces so you can adjust your desired level of heat.

Tremendous broths and root vegetables, especially wonderful in winter but good anytime. I could eat daikon all day. Carrots too. And beef.

Good Bahn Mi, but not quite as flavorful as Baoguette. Terrible green papaya salad - a bunch of shredded papaya with some steamed shrimp on top - not even any peanuts or bean sprouts or cilantro or mint. Skip it.

They forgot part of our order and we had to wait longer than 1 hour for the rest of it.

I am SO annoyed. Estimated delivery time: 15 to 30 min. ACTUAL delivery time: 1 HOUR 28 min. My order has arrived cold, my sandwich is mushy, and I had to call twice to ask where it was (was told it would arrive within 5 min both times - way off). The flavor of the food seems average to slightly above, and I can imagine if I was eating it fresh and its proper temperature it would be good.

This is the second time in a row that our order was messed up. Both times some of the food ordered was missing. Also, they are only located a couple of blocks from where I live but the delivery time took almost an hour (estimated time said 15-30 minutes). I will not order food here again.

Bun was unflavorful and boring. Pretty much just a bowl of noodles and lettuce- no flavor elements like basil, cilantro or peanuts.

Way too expensive for the amount of food received. Took over an hour to receive food when I was quoted 30 mins.

In the past I would have given Bao 4-5 stars. We've been ordering from there and dining in since they opened a few years ago. However, in the last 6-12 months or so it seems like they've been trying to stretch their dollar and the quality of their food has gone down hill as a result. The last two times I ordered Grilled Beef Brochettes Vermicelli (a favorite in the past) - the meat was so fatty I couldn't eat it - and I don't typically cut fat out of beef. The same goes for the Lemongrass Short Ribs, which used to be a delight. We ended up eating pieces of the short rib around the fat in an attempt to remember they're former glory. Bao has also reduced the portion sizes on some items and taken out ingredients, presumably to lower costs. i.e. the shrimp and grapefruit salad no longer comes with shrimp, but doesn't cost any less. Reducing the portion size alone isn't a big deal, but with everything else it feels like cost-cutting has become their top priority. Really disappointing.

This place is terrible. Their chicken is low quality super market chicken and the food in general was disgusting. I ordered over $60 of food for me and 3 friends and not one of us enjoyed it. Never ordering from here again.

This is probably the worst restaurants I have ever been to. It is a disgrace to Vietnamese food. I am completely surprised by the great reviews this restaurant has received. I am Asian and I have eaten at many Vietnamese restaurants and this is by far the worst place I have ever eaten at. The pho did not taste like pho. The grill pork sandwich was completely fatty not a single piece of meat had any meat on it. The sandwich was stuffed with fat. The chicken for the chicken and vermicelli noodles were undercooked, half of the chicken was still rare. I prefer beef undercooked but definitely not chicken. Also the sticky rice was disgusting. I am not sure how to describe it but it just seemed like all they did to season it was add oyster sauce. Bottom line is this restaurant was appalling and I would never go here, order here or recommend ANYONE to ever eat here.
